Homelessness is usually the part of the story people notice. But for many men, the road there began much earlier.
Before the street
There may have been a job, a family, a home, responsibilities, dreams, and people who counted on him.

Addiction, grief, divorce, trauma, job loss, isolation, financial pressure, or one crisis after another can slowly pull a life apart.
But the story can keep going
Recovery begins when someone has a safe place to start again, people who believe change is possible, and enough time to rebuild.
Getting off the street is only the beginning.
A bed can give a man a safe place to sleep. A meal can meet an immediate need. But rebuilding a life takes more than one night of help.
Men in the Phoenix Dream Center Men's Life Recovery Program have an opportunity to step away from the chaos of the street and begin rebuilding with structure, recovery support, practical care, faith, and community around them.
That kind of restoration takes time. It takes patience. And it takes people willing to stand with men while they do the difficult work of beginning again.
