As many of you know, we’ve been very blessed to be serving girls and young women who have survived human trafficking for nearly 20 years.

During this time we’ve met a lot of hard working people who have started other programs that are doing truly amazing work.

One such woman we met nearly 15 years ago had a vision to serve the really young girls who are being trafficked. Currently we mostly serve girls who are age 13 and older, but there are young girls sometimes.

Sadly, she recently called us and said that after 15 years of serving the very young girls she could no longer keep her doors open. She said that the girls she was serving would have to leave.

Heartbreaking…

You see, the state of Arizona has recent made it significantly harder to get funding for these types of shelters. This director had always relied on the funding that came from the state. She had very few donations and people supporting her in other ways.

So when she told me, Either our doors are closing and these girls are going away to bad places or we’re giving everything to you”, our heart was immensely broken and troubled at the same time.

We took the matter to prayer and sought the wisdom of our board and others.

And so our news is, that with God’s grace guiding us we tell you that we have decided to absorb this other nonprofit. This includes us now providing the services to girls between the ages of 4 and 13 years old who are victims of human trafficking.

There’s no typo there – girls as young as FOUR YEARS OLD. And, there are 5 girls under 8 years old there right now.

Right now there is an eight year old and ICU that we are desperately wanting to take in. But we also know that the state is not going to provide enough funding for this child.

We’ll make no bones about it. We need your help with this.
