The Dream Closet

Hi, my name is Elaine, and my husband is Bob.

We have a huge heart for what the Phoenix Dream Center does.

Someone from the Dream Center reached out to me about different ways to get involved.   That’s how we found out about the Dream Closet.

When young men and women are recovered from human trafficking situations, they rarely have anything but the clothes on their backs.  And those clothes aren’t really anything you’d want someone to wear in public… or, really, at all.

The Dream Closet is a room on-campus where the young men and women in the Human Trafficking Program can come and “shop” (everything is completely free) for new clothes, shoes, and accessories – there’s even a section for the babies.

They’ve had some amazingly generous clothing retailers donate brand new clothing for the young men and women in the Program.  And the volunteer who runs the Dream Closet has an amazing gift for selecting outfits for each young lady and gentleman – making them feel like they’re a queen or a king for a moment.

We have supported the Dream Center for many years, but having the opportunity to actually be there and meet some of the people that are now serving our Lord because of the caring workers and those with a heart to donate resources to further the kingdom has been a rich experience for us.  I am reminded of Ephesians 2:10 NLT which reads “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

We are so blessed to have a small part in this work.
